My happiest day in years came this past Saturday as I watched our Lions beat the crap out of KC at home. Not only did they win in fashion, they won with class. They played professionally while K.C. was playing like idiots. All those penalties and dirty playing got them no where while the Lions stuck with their game plan and kept their cool and wiped them off the field. The best part of it all was when they made a good tackle or a great offensive play they got up with class and went to the next play instead of throwing hulk- amania jestures and having the " I have conquered my quest" looks, they let They're play speak for itself. Don't get me wrong-I know this is football and its nice to see celebrations and high fives-I get it,but the Lions of old would be doing this on a third down stop and then give up the big play for a score,or take a 14 point lead and act like they have won the game and then get creamed in the 2nd half by more then double digits. That's when celebrating became a idiot move, to me, to watch. A good play is just that a good play, when you have strung a few together I'm cool with it. I want to see scores and defense and I got my wish Saturday. I can't remember when I have smiled that much recently! Congratulations on the victory Lions, please give the fans of Detroit more. We deserve a great team and so far you are making up for some bad memories as life time Detroit Lions fans. The greatest day as a Detroit Lions fan came when Barry Sanders, another class act all the way, broke the 2000 yard mark. He was so humble and I loved that guy. Miss the hell out of him and wish he could of been a part of this Lion's team. That being said,I bet if he watched that game he was just as happy as us fans to watch our Lions win with class!
