Going into Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings
I have a few head scratchers for you. What should we be most concerned about going into Week 3?
1) Adrian Peterson: Last year in Game 1 against the Vikings Adrian Peterson ran for over 150 yards with 2 TD's. Game 2 against the Vikings he ran for only a measly 31 yards with no TD's? Looking at Game 2 against the Chieds, in Q1 our run defense was not so great. (Until the injury) Then we look at one of the bets RB in the league and I ask myself; "Will our defense be able to hold him back?" Will they look like the did in Q1 against the Chiefs
or like they did in Game 2 against the Vikings last year?
2) Unsportsmanlike Conduct and Late hit calls: This is the "Stupid of Stupid" and the "Careless of Carelss" calls. I look at any Lion who performs one of these penalties and automatic response is "Seriously, what are you doing?!?!?" Yes, we have a young team and we are rebuilding. Is it carelessness or is it more they are young and don't know any better? Well, they can't keep having these penalties and winning games. Game 2 was good, but the preseason and Game 1 was abysmal.
3) Matt Stafford: Wow, this subject is touchy. Let me begin by saying...I like Matt Stafford. I believe he could become a GREAT QB in the league. But in the last 2 games we have seen Matt Stafford slow to get up, or rubbing muscles, or wincing in pain. Will our offensive line be able to protect Mr. Glassford enough to keep him in the game for the rest of the season. This has to be my biggest concern, as it is for most Lions
fans. Yes, we have allowed no sacks (I know the stats) but he has taken some hard hits. How long can he keep it up?
What is your biggest concern heading into Game 3?
