but I just ask that people recognize when skill is there. Ya, it's only been 2 weeks, yes I know we still have a lot to prove to go from "pretender to contender" (according to NFL No Huddle) and I know that it takes time to build these things.
I want to revisit our wonderful friend Heath Evans, this guy, seriously, is the worst analyst I know. For those that don't know, I went to VCU, during our awesome final four fun, we had pundits (namely Joe Lunardi and Dick Vitale and ESPECIALLY Jay Bilas) make claims that "VCU has no talent, they don't deserve it, they can't do this, they will fail here and there, etc." I am used to the crap-flinging and non-faith, but this is just ridiculous.
Minnesota is going to be a tough fight, and as much as we want to overlook them (we being the fans) I think we still don't have a lot to hold a candle to, don't get me wrong, I have been a lions fan for 12 years and this is the strongest I can remember them (besides the Barry years) I know we have the potential I just think it's going to take a lot more to prove ourselves. Our fans have said this time and time again, we can keep winning *knock on wood* but the more we win the more people will doubt. To go back to my earlier example, when VCU did make it to the final four, and lost, those who doubted us in the beginning still doubted us and were like "well clearly VCU was never a final four team"
All I can say to my fellow lions fan is let's rise above it, let's power through and rock the house and drop the hammer.
I will end with a quote from my dad that I always tend to live by, he told me when I was trying to choose a major in college "I don't care what you do, as long as you do it well and with conviction. I know you have the potential to do well, if I didn't think you could succeed, I wouldn't have pushed you, but I know you can, and that's why I did."
