Nine Detroit Lions Players Miss Wednesday's Practice
As nice as it was to have relatively small injury reports during the first two weeks of the season, it's not realistic to expect that as the season progresses. Injuries are already starting to pile up, and while many of the ailments are simply minor bumps and bruises, the end result is the injury report growing as time goes by.
This week, for example, the Lions injury report included 11 players on Wednesday. Nine of the players missed all of practice and two were limited. Here's a breakdown:
Did Not Practice
WR Calvin Johnson (Ankle)
WR Rashied Davis (Hamstring)
TE Brandon Pettigrew (Shoulder)
OT Jason Fox (Foot)
DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (Not Injury Related)
DE Cliff Avril (Knee)
DT Nick Fairley (Foot)
LB DeAndre Levy (Knee)
S Louis Delmas (Hip)
Limited Participation
WR Maurice Stovall (Hand)
CB Alphonso Smith (Foot)
Chances are most of the players who didn't practice will be healthy enough to play on Sunday. Obviously guys like Fox and Fairley aren't going to return just yet, but it seems like the other players sat out practice because of some minor injuries that aren't anything to worry about.

minnesota fans and the brilliant football knowledge they possess are bashing us saying because that next week is in the metro that will be enough to beat detroit

Well, it's kind of on us to prove it.
They’ve been saying it and proving it for over a decade straight, we don’t have the right to really say otherwise until we actually do it.
"You've got to respect your opponent, no matter who it is. You respect him best by going out there and beating him up." - Calvin Johnson
the Bye Week...
That’s what most Minnesota fans call Detroit’s annual visit, and they have been proving it for many decades, after their initial 5 years of their franchise history; we have won less than a third of the games all-time. There is little wonder why Viking fans think they own us… they have. There have only been 3 times in our history where we have won two-in-a-row; Sunday’s game provides the opportunity for a 4th time.
I expect the Lions to win this week, and to those whom I know in Minnesota, I will simply say, “Guess we got lucky, huh?” It’s going to take awhile before we acquire some bragging rights over the Vikings. A Lion victory will give them a little more focus on Chicago and Green Bay this season, and that’ll be a good thing.

Time to step up and shut em up and prove were a decent team now.
27-17 Lions
.Does your momma have a Big Ass like your head?
Good Let them
If 30 years of being an under dog, and God knows how many bad teams there have been in Detroit makes them think like that, then I say let them under estimate the Lions. I wouldn’t tell Suh something stupid like that, ask Blount what happens when they do that?
I can tell you the Lions ARE taking this game seriously, and I feel sorry for the ViQueens if they don’t do the same.

Game on!
I'm back from the D
-Kblom, I was wondering how long it’s been, thx for that bit of info.
-Brad, I have one thing to say to Vikings Fans………Bwahahahahahaha!!!!! What a bunch of living in the past idiots.
-I had the best time in the D, the private suite I was in was in the corner of the end zone, what a view and what a game to boot.
-I knew we were gonna beat the crap out of KC, funny thing is, I really don’t feel like we played that great of a game. I mean we played alright, but it’s not like we played our best game. We’re just a damn good football team and we can win 48-3 playing a pretty average game, I mean this as huge compliment
-Mavyrk, oh we will prove it, I can’t wait to beat down those fuckers in their own piece of shit stadium!!!
-Finally, I’m looking at the schedule and if we get through the next 2 games undefeated, then 8-0 going into the bye week is very possible, I like our chances.
I surprised
Staf is not on the walking wounded list ! His ribs took a beating last week and I saw him flexing his left wrist also ! Sure glad he is ok .
Its football thou once you start hitting in pads you stay hurt until the spring !
I know his back received a dose of helmet
I think that’s what he was stretching..

2 of these injuries have me particularly worried
Cliff Avril – Knee and DeAndre Levy – Knee
Levy has missed time with knee injuries before so hopefully this is just a small thing.
Yeah, me too
I’m not sure what “knee” means, but Avril’s is always dinged up and takes fewer reps as a result sometimes. I think Carpenter could probably step in and play just as well for Levy, but I hope his “knee” is more of a banged knee or something…

I still think Levy is much better than Carp. Having said that i also think Carp will do a decent job.
hopefully we wont know. As for Avril, i really don’t want to see him not in our Line…i love the guy. It is surprising he doesn’t have a sack yet.
The Disassembly Line....nuff said.
Levy's knee...
If resting him a game will help that knee recover before it becomes a bigger issue, then I say go ahead… take the leash off of Carpenter. It might even help with a more concerted focus on the run defense, as the whole unit will realize that it needs to step it up. It’s not like they have attained any consistancy there yet.

So Phons was limited in practice again.
So any news on when he might return? And when he does return where is he going to fit in? The slot?
