NFL Roster Cuts: Detroit Lions Release Prince Miller, Rudy Niswanger
You can add two more players to the list of cuts the Detroit Lions have made: offensive lineman Rudy Niswanger and cornerback Prince Miller. Niswanger was informed of his release, according to Dave Birkett, and Miller tweeted about being cut.
Niswanger got time at center and offensive guard and appeared to be playing well enough to at least make a run at Dylan Gandy's roster spot. It's not clear if Gandy has in fact made the roster, but even if he hasn't, Niswanger won't be the one taking his spot.
At cornerback, Miller was pretty far down the depth chart, so this is no surprise. I did have him making the practice squad over Paul Pratt in my last roster prediction, but it has already been reported that Pratt will make the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Here's the updated list of players cut today: Miller, Niswanger, Pratt, defensive tackle Robert Callaway, wide receiver Nate Hughes, defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock, defensive end Keyunta Dawson, offensive tackle Kirk Chambers and linebacker Cobrani Mixon.
