Hey guys...

I have Sean's permission to mention my new Lion's blog here on POD, so I hope this doesn't go over the line.  First and foremost, I just want to say that I am a POD member, I love this blog, I will always be a POD member (unless I get banned for my mouth), and I am NOT in any way, shape, or form trying to lead people away from the BEST Lion's blog on the web.  That said, due to the fact that TCLion was banned from SB Nation a little while back (he was reinstated shortly thereafter, thanks to Sean), apparently for "throttle control" (which means he posted the same post on too many SB Nation team sites in quick succession...he was trying to get a poll from every NFL team's fanbases as to whether or not they felt that Jeff Backus was better or worse than their own starting LTs), and because he is my best friend and he had the idea of starting up our own blog, I took the initiative and did just that.

I decided that it would be a good place for me to run my weekly series, The Weekend Spotlight, and just blog about the Lions in general from our perspectives.  TCLion and I are the admin and authors at the site.  I am looking for some people to come over, follow the blog, and provide us with some feedback.  I am also looking for a few solid contributors to give authoring privileges to, so if you are an aspiring writer or if you just want to sound off about the Lions, let us know.  The title of the blog is "The Mane Attraction", and you can reach the site at talknfl.blogspot.com.  There are many options...you can log in with an open ID just to comment, or you can use an open ID to follow the blog.  You can also set up e-mail updates, a CSS, and you can even follow on mobile devices.  The best part about open ID is that you can use a Google account, a Yahoo account, a Facebook account, a Live Journal account, a Wordpress account, a TypePad account, or even an AIM account to log in and comment, or to follow the blog.

I have told a few of our fellow POD members, who are also on Twitter, about the blog.  I asked them to "check it out, join, and comment".  Apparently "join" is a poor choice of words.  What I mean by "join the blog" is to simply become a follower of the blog.  When you go to the page, you will see a link at the top right that says "sign in".  This is NOT where you will click to become a follower.  Below that, there will be a link where you can enter an e-mail address and password to become a follower.  We really need some commenters and some people who will provide us with feedback, so please do me a favor and come see what I am doing!  Thank you for your time.

It's looks professional also.

The effort your putting into it shows. I like that. Like I told you before, you guys have thought me loads about the finer points of football. Things I would of never looked at before.

You know....basic ++

Anything outside of the norm that ESPN or NFL.com would carry.

No disrespect to Simcity, but his stuff bores the hell out of
me.

But I love the good football analysis that Latif brings.

A great breakdown is always good to read. Ty Schallers stuff is good. I like MikeyClaws analysis.

Ohhhh, those exotic stats.

I thought you meant the measurements of strippers or how many dollar bills they collect.

Funny....you know what I mean.

That weird shit you youngsters love to find.

Like what percentage a team is apt to run out of X formation, and the percentage of runs to the right or left out of the shotgun formation against a 3-4 D.

I support my POD brothers

I discussed starting a blog with Enforcer but we decided it would likley end up a hardcore porn site after the first week LMAO. I dunno how much commenting I will do but rest assure I’ll be checking it out fairly regular I’m sure. I’ll probably start on the pictures you wanted next week. I’ll try to get you 3 or 4 to go by and decide if thats what you want.

To anyone voting no...

Could you give me a reason why? I could use the constructive criticism to improve the series. If you’re just a troll, voting no just because, then don’t bother. However, if you’re a POD member who read the series and didn’t like it for some reason, even if it was ME and not the post, then please let me know what you didn’t like. Thanks.

Because you suck! LoL J/K man, you know I respect you

I certainly enjoy reading your stuff, and as I said before I don’t always comment in your threads because I usually don’t disagree with much, or if I do it is not generally something that I feel is a huge gap in philosophy or whatnot. Obviously I votes yes and am just being a smart ass :P

I desperately need a fill-in author/authors

Found out last night that my first rotation for my new job will have me leaving around the 14th-16th. I do a weekly series where I break down the Lions next opponent, and one where I do a quick post-game follow up. Now I’m not looking for an author clone, but for my breakdown segment, I would like someone who can focus beyond the numbers and try to get into the heads of both the offensive and defensive coordinators on both sides of the field. Someone can appreciate how teams will try to gameplan for their opponent based on assessed strengths and weaknesses of each. Try to make educated guesses on what you think each team will implememnt in their gameplan early on to try and take advantage of the other teams perceived weakness, and try and come up with some other interesting points regarding the matchup that will capture the readers interest. I’ll be gone anywhere between 5-10 weeks, so having someone from here, where I know the caliber of thought is top-notch, would mean a lot to me.

Damn I love this team. This is the greatest season ever so far!

Thank you.
