Brandon Pettigrew, Two Other Lions Change Numbers

Stay connected for news and updates

With the 53-man roster set and the regular season just days away, three Detroit Lions players have decided to change their numbers.

Tight end Brandon Pettigrew is one of the three players switching numbers. He is no longer No. 84, opting instead for No. 87. This was his number in college at Oklahoma State, and he decided to go back to it for this upcoming season.

Linebackers Doug Hogue and Justin Durant also changed numbers. More specifically, they swapped their numbers. Hogue gave No. 52 to Durant and is now No. 57, and Durant is now No. 52 after giving No. 57 to Durant.

In other numbers news, running back Keiland Williams is No. 34 and offensive guard Jacques McClendon is No. 63. Williams and McClendon were at practice today and were assigned numbers after passing their physicals. For Williams' sake, I hope he has more luck with the Lions than the previous running backs who wore No. 34.
