Lions Notes: Buccaneers Deny LeGarrette Blount Talked Trash To Ndamukong Suh
- A Facebook page allegedly belonging to Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount talked some trash by saying that he will be "running through" Ndamukong Suh on Sunday. The Buccaneers have denied the page is Blount's, though. (Via Detroit Free Press)
- Suh made it pretty clear what his plans are for the 2011 season: "I’m not here to meet friends. I’m here to cause you problems and meet your quarterback. I’ll shake his hand when I’m hitting him."
- Suh was interviewed by Dan Patrick and Jim Rome this week.
- The Lions media room is now officially named after Tom Kowalski.
- It turns out that former Raiders cornerback Walter McFadden merely visited with the Lions. Originally it was reported he was going to sign with the team's practice squad.
- Aqib Talib "cannot wait to go up against" Calvin Johnson. Johnson also can't wait to go up against the Buccaneers, especially if they use single coverage to defend him.
- Jim Schwartz was interviewed by Sirius NFL Radio yesterday.
- Schwartz joked about his strategy with coin flips today: "I mean, if we get a good wind in overtime, we might just kick off." It's still hurts, Jim. Still hurts.
- Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris is a fan of Schwartz. In fact, Morris said this earlier in the week: "I steal from coach as much as I can because he is a creative play-caller."
- Nate Burleson played the role of interviewer and chatted with Calvin Johnson earlier this week.
- On Thursday, Packers receiver Randall Cobb became the first player born in the 1990s to play in a regular season NFL game. Considering I was born in 1990, I officially feel old.

Suh is going to bury Blount every chance he gets...
The Bucs CB s are dead in the water if they try to single coverage on any of a WR especially CJ… Staff will pick there asses apart.

Correction. *Tulloch* will bury Blount every chance he gets.
Suh just needs to provide the opportunities.

He might Smittyj however, after watching the O-line this preseason I’m not overly impressed. Generally they run block pretty good, its there pass protection that has most Buccaneer fans worried the most. Especially considering that monster you have in the middle who goes by the name SUH.

The 90's
I remember them… I was in high school. You want to feel old? Try this-
I learned computers on a TRS-80 (Trash 80).
My first car was a 1979 Plymouth Champ (and it was only 10 years old)
My phone calls were made on party lines
I remember when FOX began & could only get the signal on our 7 foot satellite dish in the back yard.
I remember government cheese & butter & peanut butter & those god awful crackers that went with all of them for snacks
I have used a mimeograph machine to make copies for the teacher
I remember when the hot shoes were this new company called Nike
Yup. I’m old.

Hell
I graduated with quite a few people that HAD kids in the 90’s.

When I read this today, I was shocked. I can guarantee it was not what I thought I would see. The scary part is that I either still have it in a box in my attic or over in my parents pole barn and it still works.
Back to Cobb..
Dude looked good,Im not putting to much stock in the return until i see him consistently do put up big numbers but the TD pass from A.rod to him was beautiful.
My friend went to school with him, I've drank with him a couple times in Kentucky
He’s a really good guy. Would not surprise me one bit to see him excel in the NFL. Good on him.

Yeah well try watching the kids of the players you use to watch now play!
I can still see Ingram in a Giants Uni. And Walter Paytons kid has already been knocked out of the league so that is saying I am even older than I feel.

Watching the first Nebraska game in Lincoln was an interesting experience for me.
Ameer Abdullah is a full year younger than me, and he was out there breaking off big punt and kick returns.

I wanna punch Fran Charles in the face
Everytime the Lions are brought up he says “Stafford’s gotta stay healthy”. No SHIT, so many of these talking heads on tv and very few of them have anything intelligent to add. Where is Rich Eisen, I can’t stand this m’fer Fran Charles, or Heath Evans for that matter.
Oh, come on, everyone says the same thing.
And there’s a pretty good reason for it. Only it’s not relevant to the game coming up.
No slogans. Just win!!!
You just said it, not relevant.
Matt Ryan needs to stay healthy, he’s missed a game or 2. Every qb needs to stay healthy. At some point it’s like STFU, you know what I mean?
by fiendishdr.wu on Sep 9, 2011 6:41 PM EDT up reply actions
To be fair, he's not wrong.
Stafford hasn’t been able to stay healthy, and it has hurt the Lions. Matt Ryan has stayed healthy for the most part and has helped his team win games. As have many other QBs. Until Stafford proves he can do that, you’ll continue to hear it and for good reason.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

Suh…Glad to have you on my team. Been waiting 40 years for the Lions to have a good team and go deep into the play-offs. (or beyond) When training in the gym, I pretend I’m an army tank…lol! You guys do the same!…You’re an Army tank! and army tanks don’t think, they don’t talk, they just DRIVE! They drive over trees, they drive through walls, they drive uphill, downhill, it doesn’t matter, THEY JUST DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DRIVE OVER THE OTHER TEAMS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

—The thought of a old guy who refers to himself as “The Chuckken” not only picturing himself as an army tank while lifting in the gym but actually writing it in a comment? Ladies and gentlemen, that’s what you call priceless!
PS. Again, no disrespect to Mr. The Chuckken. I have the utmost respect for anyone that followed this team for 40 years, give or take 30.

If no one stole
We’d all be running 5-2 defenses and the quarterback would be a blocker primarily.
Wouldn’t that be fun?

(Buc Fan here)
Lions fans, You guys should be happy as hell to have a town and owner who is willing to pick up the extra tickets if in fact they even have to so that your games are not blacked out like we have in Tampa. I’m sure that you all would feel exactly the same as we do knowing that you have such a young and talented team that you can’t even watch. I look forward to listening to the game on the radiio nonetheless because I am a true fan. I have heard so many people talking smack (from both sides) that I thought I would come here to say that this game should be awesome to watch and seeing two of the young and up and coming teams of today and certainly the future play each other. These two teams are going to be seeing each other in the playoffs maybe this year but certainly in the future. Also, Josh Freeman and Matthew Stafford both blow Rex Ryan’s boy off the field. They both are much better quarterbacks. Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!

The Dis-Assembly Line - The unofficial, official name for the next best D-line in football.
The Bucs and Lions are both young and improving.
I think both fan bases can look forward to several years of having a good team to root for. Fortunately for our owner, he probably won’t have to buy many tickets this season. The fans are selling the games out without any of that happening so far.

How does your running game look? we dont get a chance to watch the lions much down here and I know that you guys lost your highly touted rookie tailback to I think an achilles injury.

We know it won't be great
but we’re not sure really. Best looked great when he didn’t have turf toes on both his feet (two games max last year). Maurice Morris had over 100 yards last time we played you guys, he’s listed as probable. I’m kind of excited to see what our newst RB will add to the table: Keiland Williams. He’s 230 LBS and does a good job breaking tackles – that’s the kind of back we’ve been missing with LeShoure going down.
But the biggest thing is, our line often allows penetration on run plays and they get blown up…dirg!
