Lions At Packers: Inactives Announced

Here is the list of inactives for today's game between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers:

Detroit Lions

QB Drew Stanton

RB Joique Bell

OG Leonard Davis

DT Corey Williams

CB Aaron Berry

S Ricardo Silva

S Louis Delmas

Green Bay Packers

QB Aaron Rodgers

RB James Starks

WR Randall Cobb

WR Greg Jennings

OT Bryan Bulaga

LB Clay Matthews

CB Charles Woodson

The amount of talent on the Packers' inactives list is insane. While most of those guys are dealing with injuries, I'm surprised that Mike McCarthy decided to sit them all. I'm also surprised Rodgers won't get a series or two before sitting out. He's not going to play at all today, which is big for the Lions. If they can't beat the Packers' backups, they may never pick up a win at Lambeau Field again.

For the Lions, the noteworthy names are Williams and Delmas. Williams has been dealing with a hip injury and is taking the week off to get healthy for the playoffs. Delmas, on the other hand, is out another week with his knee injury. He should be back next week for the wild-card round.

yeah not to sound too cocky but 11-5 will be nice

this is a should win game obviously.definitely a must win for morale and momentum going into the playoffs.it will really hurt our confidence if we drop this game to their backups.

So much for J. Bell getting some carries.

That is a bit odd to me.

Not surprised at the Packers inactives. There really is no need to risk any of those key guys today. Smart and gutsy move by McCarthy.

"I’m sorry for all the people who want us to run the ball 40 times a game, but we’re going to put the ball in No. 9’s hands and he’s going to make plays for us like he did today," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. Amen to that Jim!

Right he'll be a great "secret weapon" ...

to surprise teams we’ll face in the playoffs … kinda like the Packers did with Starks last year.

exactly

not too many teams know a lot about him. obviously the saints do, but we will worry about that later

It would of been nice to see Bell ...

get some carries as a Lion. And a back like him is a great asset in cold weather. But that would be asking a lot for a guy to come from the bottom part of the US all the way to the North, settle his family, and learn the playbook.

especially for how much our rbs block for stafford and move out for the check down.

definitely want him to be prepared for the roll he’ll need to play

Wow.

I’m surprised, not extremely surprised, but surprised nonetheless.

I expected Rodgers to at least play a few series and also didn’t expect to see Matthews/Woodson on there.

Obviously, the Lion's should dominate ...

and if we have a substantial lead and obvious, rock-solid control of the game at half-time, it will probably good to sit Matthew Stafford, CJ, and others. If we don’t have a substantial lead at half-time or by the end of the third, that will not be a good sign, since our starters will be playing the Packers second string. If we can’t beat the Packers second string I don’t know how well we will do in the playoffs. But I don’t see that happening … it better not

yeah hopefull stafford lights it up today.but he will be playing in lambeau for the first time

i’m curious to see how well he plays in the cold

It's a long story how I fell in love with the Lions... (former diehard Steeler 45 yrs)

One of the major factors was reading all the posts on Pride Of Detroit and after about a year I joined. I follow the Lions religiously, watch every game, and take in everything Lions.

About half way through the 0-16 season...

I found Pride of Detroit and started reading because I wanted to see what true fans, fans who stick with their team through thick and thin… I wanted to see what they felt. After about a year of reading posts, I joined Pride Of Detroit. That led to me watching all Lions games last year and this year, and I finally got up enough nerve to post. At the end of last year I looked in the mirror and had to admit I loved the Lions and not the Steelers.

I think the 40 mph wind will be a bigger factor on how #9 performs

Smith

Yes he is bad but the whole defense is not doing much. No pressure at all on Flynn. I know it may sound like sour grapes but what grade school did this officiating crew come from?
