He is still very young but I like him. Is he the best linebacker on our team … no? but he is a solid defensive player.

The coverage is lacking in our LBs
Huge surprise might have been a little strong but I dont usually expect to get solid starters in the 3rd round with the Lions. I think the jury is still out. He is still really young.

Levy is a 4 year starter from college if I’m not mistaken, in the Big Ten. I don’t hate the guy, we could definitely do worse, but he isn’t particularly fast, strong, or good in coverage

One thing I do really like about him … his reading of running gaps is getting better. He isn’t the fastest but he can make up for it with being in the right spot which he has been doing consistently.

I think he’s good, for sure. It’s just unfortunate, cuz he’s got the size and everything, but he just doesn’t have the speed or coverage instincts, which you can’t really coach. We don’t need another DE at LB

I don’t even think he got in on first ballot. I think there is a lot to be said for Hanson playing his entire career in Detroit that could go a long way towards him being a first ballot… but the Lions will have to play relevant playoff football through the twilight of his career in order for him to have a chance.

Williams was to the side AND behind Calvin Johnson
He HAD to play through the back of CJ in his ATTEMPT to make a play on the ball. He also extended his arm over his shoulder and across the front of CJ. It was a textbook case of pass interference, and my “fandom” did not blind me in the least. I saw it happen, I called it, and you believe that he was somehow in front of the receiver when he clearly was not.
Obviously, your eyes saw what the ref saw and your mouth repeated what the announcers said. If I could post the play here for you, I would. Williams did not have the proper position to make a play on the ball while making contact with the receiver, beyond the 5 yard cushion, and that is all there is to it.

if we can't beat the saints, then this game didn't matter from the start
we’ll have to beat them or the packers if we ever want a shot at the superbowl this year. Making the playoffs is great, but we shouldn’t have the mentality that that is the ultimate goal. I honestly don’t think that that is what the Lions think right now. I think they have every intention of getting to the superbowl…and honestly, a few calls go our way and we win this game. The same can be said for any playoff game. Hell, McDonald or Wright pick that ball off and the game is over.
