Calvin Johnson To Skip Pro Bowl Because Of Injury
I know many fans weren't planning to watch the 2012 Pro Bowl to begin with, but you now have no reason to tune in. This is because it was announced on Wednesday that Calvin Johnson, the only Detroit Lions player in the game, has pulled out of the Pro Bowl. He has decided that rather than make the trip to Hawaii to play in the game, he will relax and heal his Achilles injury, which kept him out of several practices in the final weeks of the season.
Dave Birkett reports that Johnson hinted at this decision earlier in the week.
As Calvin Johnson cleaned out his locker Monday, the Detroit Lions’ record-setting receiver said he was looking forward to going home and "letting my body heal up." He’ll have longer to do that than first anticipated.
Johnson's replacement in the Pro Bowl will be Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White.

We have no choice then
We have to hope that at least two of Romo, Newton, and Manning all get hurt and/or drop out between now and then so Staff can get it. I’m assuming either Rogers or Brees will be in the Super Bowl.
I know we've been over it...
But I still can’t get over Romo being over Stafford.
Even if we forget about all the games Romo single handedly lost for the Cowgirls, his team didn’t even make the playoffs. I mean, if we’re not gonna take talent, execution, or wins into account, why not send Dan Orlovsky?
What a joke.

Good choice Calvin!
Take care of yourself this offseason. I think you are on track to have an amazing season [again] in 2012.
I hope no Lions get invited to this pathetic excuse for a football game.
"I’m sorry for all the people who want us to run the ball 40 times a game, but we’re going to put the ball in No. 9’s hands and he’s going to make plays for us like he did today," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. Amen to that Jim!
I'd like them to be invited
I don’t want them to go.
You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

Good job Calvin
You go to the first one for the experience and fun and so nobody gives you crap about not going and then skip the rest.
Your going to the next 5-10 anyway so no biggie.

Fuck the Pro Bowl.
Just another “fun” game that won’t be “fun” because people will begin to take it serious and refs will still screw people outta plays.
I'm glad he sat out, he should of said in protest to Stafford not getting in.
What's so funny 2011 Lions? Gordon Bombay doesn't think losing is funny.
