I TOLD YOU SO - season wrap edition

I'd like to start this off by saying Thank you to this year's Detroit Lions team. We had a very exciting ride along with what appears to be a bright future. I look forward to where this team is headed, and I appreciate the effort and fight they showed all season long. I think we beat the teams we were supposed to beat, and showed we can play with the teams considered the class of the league. Some of the "class" of the league didn't beat all the teams they were supposed to beat - so it's a great accomplishment to see these Lions came to play week in and out.

I've had a little fun with this series - I TOLD YOU SO -, and thought I would do an end of the season recap -

more after....

Star-divide

I asked in previous threads to make your bold predictions for the season ahead- so here's your chance to say "I TOLD YOU SO" to your best predictions from the last offseason (predraft, draft, FA, etc...) to the end of the season. I'll try and list mine, though I made some weak attempts. I did not accurately predict that the Lions would make history by coming back so many times down late by so many points, or that Stafford would pass for more than 5g's, or that the Lions would get a no call at the end of the game ensuring a victory, or that Calvin Johnson is only the third best WR on the Cowboys roster.

This will work even better if you have the proof for the "I TOLD YOU SO" lol

for me...

49ers would trade up for C Kaepernick in the draft (see I TOLD YOU SO DRAFT EDITION)

W Young would be one of the Lions most improved players – I also said Amari

Stafford would be the 3rs best QB in the NFC behind Rodgers and Brees

All said before opening day kickoff.

Suh would not have numbers as good as year 1. We’d make the Wildcard. TOLD U SO.

Still hoping my Packers over Ravens SuperBowl prediction comes through.

At the start of preseason

I said 10-6 with a wildcard spot

He who speaks the least, has less to regret.

Same here

I said 10-6 with a wild card spot if Staff stayed healthy all year which he did.

AND

I have to say I stand corrected also because I did predict Staff missing games this year. When I’m wrong I am wrong and I am owning up to it.

Matthew Stafford is a Franchise QB

Turns out he’s ELITE too. But I didn’t have to tell you all that. I been saying it for 3 years.

last years draft…i said “Expect the unexpected” Everyone said no Mayhew is gonna take BPA well he did.. But did anyone EXPECT a DT named Nick Fairley ? haha

Not sure this counts

But when the Nnamdi sweepstakes was going on and he was asked about joining the Lions he rolled his eyes. When he got picked up by the Eagles I said he is going to regret not taking the Lions seriously and would not make the playoffs this year with the Eagles.

I had the exact same sentimet

and I have that at a 180 for next season. The birds are going to be a serious threat to everyone next year and the many who will not be taking them seriously are going to get floored.

I told you so...

The Lions would make the playoffs this year.as a wildcard, the Packers would win the division, The Bears will be about a .500 team and the Vikings would be just plain bad.

The Vikings would not win any division games this season.

Matthew Stafford would not go on IR this season, and he would have a breakout season

Jahvid Best needed to play limited snaps to stay healthy. I was calling for only about 15 to 20 touches per game max.

The linebackers would be far better than last season, and Bobby Carpenter would be an important part of that. We don’t beat Dallas without Carpenter.

Suh would be unable to match last season. Frankly that was almost a certainty because Suh was awesome last yer.

Suh was very busy in the offseason...

…he cashed in big time! And who can blame him. He did endorsements up the wazoo. And that stupid gumball rally. But he made the classic rookie mistake of doing too much in his first offseason.

That, combined with the lockout, was the the reason for his diminished play this year. He wasn’t in shape – mentally or physically. You could see it from game 1. And his frustration boiled over later in the season. He learned his lesson…

I dont expect this to be the same in 2012. Suh will return to form as a beast!

Just livin' the dream...

I predicted that Cutler wouldn't last the whole season,

that Staff’s #‘s would be 4200yp, 26 td’s, 13 int’s, (thrilled to be wrong about that, though it was conservative,) and that we would have a 10 – 6 record like most people thought.

Did you guys see the size of that chicken?
