I rooted for the Pack last year

Entirely because of Greg Jennings. I was pissed when the Lions passed on him in the draft. Led the NCAA in receptions the year he was drafted. He would’ve been a high first round pick if he didn’t come from a MAC school.

Lots of unrecognized talent at the smaller schools. Look at Titus Young.

Could be.

Jennings really stuck out to me because I was attending Western at the time. White looks like he could be a steal for someone though, if he can stay healthy.

agreed

Sold my truck when I moved out here. Live really close to my store and can Cab when I go farther, which is not that often cause I work so much.

I am fostering a rescue dog right now (half pit half shar pei). He was in terrible shape when I got him 4 weeks ago. He is in amazing shape now, to the point that my customers that stop in are stunned how well he is doing. Anyhow, I took him outside on our first snow here and he loved it. We played dog/human soccer with a softball sized chunk of ice for about 30 minutes. He was in heaven. Carrying it around, tossing it in the air, dancing around it and crouching down to bark at it.

Winter sucks, i completely agree but once in a while I am reminded of the fun of snow and ice. Go figure, it would be a 9 month old 60+ pound puppy that reminded me.

when the chicago police arrived with him, he was about 55 pounds. Three weeks later he is already over 61 pounds. I really think he is going to get big. Like 80+ pounds big.

He is going to his forever home tomorrow night. It is going to be difficult to let him go……

A bait dog is basically a dog that is too timid or nice to be a fighter

Like this dog I have, he is built like a tank, tough as nails and as gentle as a kitten. They are wasted food for dog fighters so they use them the only way they really can.

They bind their legs together, bind their jaw shut and then throw them into a ring with another dog and teach that other dog how to kill.

Needless to say, it is exceptionally rare for a bait dog to survive let alone get picked up by the police and then get delivered to a person with knowledge on how to help them.

When the police found him, his right rear paw was so infected from bite wounds he could not put pressure on it. The cops thought it was a broken leg. My lady and I decided to spend our Xmas money on him and get him fixed up. He has been worth every dime. Such an amazing, smart, loving and loyal dog.

So when I flip out when people mention that asshole QB that funded and participated in dog fighting, it is because I have seen first hand the results. I loose all reason.

honestly man

I have been around probably 200 + dogs in my life.

He is the most intelligent dog I have ever had in my life. He learned sit in about an hour, on a bad foot. He learned stay and down in less than a day. He knows, pee on a tree, as his outside phrase and he learned that is 2 or 3 days. He still struggles with Stop but he is only 9, that is to be expected.

It has been a treat to have him in my life.

Last week we had 20 inches of fresh snow/powder. The dog had a great time running through it. He likes burying a squeky toy in the snow, then digging it up, rolling toys down the snow berm, etc. It is a lot of fun !

Sorry no, I do not sell it.

I am not a fan of Science Diet. Too many poor fillers. If you are open for a suggestion, I would go with Canidae if you can find it in your area. It is actually a much higher quality food and the price should be in the same area. Maybe even a little less expensive. This quote is rather common when dogs are moved to canidae.

However, my supplier recommended Canidae 21/2 years ago..WOW! I never knew that my oldsters could be so rejuvenated! Suddenly they were putting on gorgeous coats, and acting as puppies..full of play..dancing as we walked…It just blew me away…
Then I took a 10 year old to have a cyst removed, and the vet came out amazed at her blood-work..he said that it was that expected in a 4-5 year old…He also said that he always cleans teeth while they are ‘under’, but that her teeth were absolutely clean..

It is higher protein than most name-brand foods. On that diet he maintains a very healthy weight (not obese) and has a nice healthy coat.

Grain free stuff is great

Higher protein is more natural for dogs.

I sell the grain free wellness. Great food. Most of the Wellness food has glucosomine and condroitin (spelling) in them also. They are both great for a dogs joints, keeping them properly lubricated for a long life.

shut up and play, celebrate when you score!

by Lionsickness on Jan 15, 2012 5:01 PM EST up reply actions

And it seems selfish to me if a team is down/getting blown out ....

… and a guy scores, then does the full “celebration” deal. Seems self-centered. I mean, I guess it seems more appropriate if you are ahead, or you put your team ahead with your play, then celebrate. If you are down, I figure you should just be business like and work your ass off to make a difference for the team. Personal opinion.

Lion fan in the Great Land!

by AlaskaLion on Jan 15, 2012 5:07 PM EST up reply actions

agreed

However, for me it depends on the type of play. If it is a routine first down, then no, get your ass back to the huddle. But I can allow it if the guy making the first down had to make a great play, like fight for the first down through some tackles or defenders. Not excessive though.

I am a big fan of touchdown celebrations or even turnover celebrations and I don’t like the excessive celebration penalty. But those celebrations need to be in the context of the game, if you are getting your ass handed to you. Just head back to the sideline.

Can't really root for any team in this game

For one its the packers, and for two its the Giants, in New York, with the New York Media and if they win they will go fucking crazy and proclaim Eli Manning, the QB of QBs.

I would have much rather seen the Saints run the table, even though I’m still butt hurt about them beating the Lions than see either of these two teams for the 9ers win. However, I respect the hell out of the 9ers defense. I wonder what our defense did wrong that they are doing better? They got one hell of a middle linebacker and they got some athletic playmakers in their secondary. Is it all scheme of theres that allows their d-line to unleash hell? I didn’t watch the game yesterday.

And is sold on it. I think the FO thought is you just need the right personnel to pull it off. So if Coach is for it, a coordinator like Gunny has to go with it

Listened to the radio broadcast on my way home and I have two questions: why would the packers go for it on 4th and 5 on their own 35 yard line only down ten with around 10 minutes left? And why would they onside kick again only down by ten with 5 minutes left when they failed on one earlier? Wow total implosion now.

After the whole Suh thing popped off, there was a good amount of Green Bay assholes who just could not wait to kick in the door on POD and start acting high & mighty like nobody on the Packers’ squad ever assaulted anyone, and their team was all clean and class.
