2012 NFL Draft Order: Lions Will Pick 21st Or Later
I know that the 2012 NFL Draft order is the furthest thing from anybody's mind with a playoff game looming, but for those wondering, the lineup is set for picks 1-20. With Week 17 and the regular season in the books, the order for the non-playoff teams has been determined. Where teams in the playoffs (like the Lions) pick in the 2012 NFL Draft is dependent on what happens in the postseason. The earlier teams lose, the higher they will pick. The later they lose, the later they will pick.
Because the Lions are in the playoffs, they will pick 21st or later. This will be the first time they have had a pick in the 20s since the 2009 NFL Draft, when they used pick No. 20 (from the Cowboys) to select Brandon Pettigrew. The last time they had a pick originally belonging to them in the 20s was in 2000. That year they selected Stockar McDougle 20th overall.
The 2012 NFL Draft order for picks 1-20 is after the jump.

I think we go one of 2 routes in the first round…O-Line or Cornerback
I think Mike Adams (LT, Ohio State), Peter Konz (C, Wisconsin), and Zebrie Sanders (LT, FSU) should all be there. Although I wouldn’t touch Sanders with a 10 foot pole.
I think we could also get a big corner like Stephon Gilmore (South Carolina) or Chase Minnifield (Virginia).
None of these guys are Johnathan Martin (LT, Stanford) or Morris Claiborne (CB, LSU), but they’re no slouches either. Well maybe Sanders is…
If I remember correctly...
Florida Offensive Line is taught to not move if they feel the D jumped offsides. Now, since the action was continuing all around him, he should snapped out of it. However, he was doing what the coaches told him to do. Hard time faulting him for that.
LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! LITTLE MAN IN BACKFIELD! GO STEFAN LOGAN!
I believe they will continue to draft the best players that fit the “scheme” regardless of need (outside of QB, WR and RB). Wouldn’t be surprised if they draft a DE or LB even though O Line and Secondary are all greater needs. Long term though, need to be prepared if Avril can’t be resigned and/when KVB retires.
David DeCastro
Is maybe one of the best guards to ever come out of college, I really want us to draft him. However I am fine with Konz or Brewster.

Best player available
That’s the way the Lions under MM play it… They don’t target specific positions (except will take QB off the board until 4th or later). But at some point the Lions need to address the O-Line. 20 is about when the best interior linemen start to trickle off the board… But it will be crap shoot drafting this late… How nice is it to say that :-)
With the 32nd pick
