The Detroit at Green Bay game on New Years was easily the worst officiated game I've ever seen. It was absolutely terrible. The worst part, every bad call went against the Lions. How come these guys don't get punished or fined for their stupidity?
Detroit had to use both their challenges before half time on blown calls. The no-fumble by Scheffler shouldn't have been called a fumble to begin with, he was brought down and then the GB player took the ball. It was a terrible call. Then the Stefan Logan play, get it right!
Then Detroit was out of challenges and didn't get to use on on the Titus Young play. He clearly made the Touchdown on that play. However, scoring plays are only reviewed if they are called a score on the field. If you're going to make that rule, shouldn't the refs default to calling close plays like that a score so that they can use the replay to make sure it's right? Detroit was clearly robbed of a TD.
Then it happened again on the Jordy Nelson fumbled fair catch. He clearly muffed it in real time and in replay, but the terrible refs called it a catch and Detroit couldn't challenge it. Another terrible call.
Sorry, but if it were one play, then you can't complain too much, but at least four obviously bad calls that all went against Detroit? Come on people, that's just terrible. Why don't these guys get fined or punished? The refs blew this game for Detroit. The sad thing is that Schwartz will probably get fined for commenting on it during his press release.
