Calvin Johnson Treats Lions Receivers To Trip To Hawaii
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson isn't playing in the 2012 Pro Bowl because of an injury, but that doesn't mean he is skipping the trip to Hawaii. In fact, Johnson is not only going to Hawaii, but he is making the trip with some of his fellow wide receivers. According to Dave Birkett, in honor of the season he had and as a way to thank them for their support, Johnson extended invites for the trip to the other Lions receivers on the team.
The group includes regulars Nate Burleson, Stefan Logan and Maurice Stovall and practice-squad receivers Marcus Harris and Nate Hughes, among others. Logan tweeted that the group was flying out of Los Angeles via private jet today.
Last year, Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh made the trip to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl even though an injury kept him out of the game. Part of the reason he still went was to support Johnson, so it's nice that this year Johnson is saying thanks to his fellow receivers by extending them an invite to Hawaii.

Class move by a class guy.
Where’s Titus?
"I’m sorry for all the people who want us to run the ball 40 times a game, but we’re going to put the ball in No. 9’s hands and he’s going to make plays for us like he did today," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. Amen to that Jim!
Probably in the "among others" group

Don't let my profile name fool you. My heart is, and always has been, with the Detroit Lions.

CJ
I would too if I knew I had a new contract but CJ probably did it because he doesn’t play for himself he plays for the guys next to him.

If we don't, for some horrible reason, re-sign Johnson...
It will go down in history as a blunder on par with any decision made by the previous administration of the Detroit Lions. Just sayin’.
Trading Calvin?
The guys arguing FOR trading Calvin in that other thread disgust me. He is both one of the most talented players AND one of the best guys in the league. You don’t find those two things in the same place too often…

Not surprised! That receiver group is a really tight bunch.
You can see it when they get together for TD celebrations on the sidelines.
Good job, Calvin!
No slogans. Just win!!!
"where's Titus"?
That was my first thought.
Nonetheless – very generous of Calvin!

classy guy
Dam…Calvin is just a classy guy…not greedy, not selfish, not on the team of me like other guys, not going to jail, never in trouble with the league or the law ,not crying cause he’s not getting the ball everytime, not a t.o. that wants attention at every turn, not randy moss taking plays off, not desean Jackson dogging it in games…faking injuries cause he doesn’t have a new contract, not roddy white dropping easy catchable balls in crucial spots, not gb packer receivers celebrating like they won the super bowl every td they make, not Andre Johnson being hurt all year! Just a man…doing the job he’s paid to do with no complaints, hardly any drops,no over the top celebrations…just a humble straight baller on the field that does his job…and does it better than any receiver in the game today! Take that people who call yourselves lions fans, and wanna trade Calvin just because of a cap number! If anyone has earned his due…It’s calvin…. #paycalvinjohnson
