VIDEO: Calvin Johnson's Interview With Jim Rome
Earlier this week, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was a guest on Jim Rome Is Burning. During his nearly six-minute-long interview with Rome, Johnson discussed several topics, including the loss to the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs, what happened in the NFC title game, if this season was a success for the Lions, what the Lions need to work on going into next season, the penalty problems the team had, the craziest thing he has seen from a defense and his contract situation. Check it out:
Via Justin Rogers, here is what Johnson had to say in response to the question about contract talks and if he wants to get something done before next season.
"Yeah man, definitely. We're going to see here soon," Johnson said. "We should have some talks hopefully, get things rolling on that end."
Johnson was also asked if he would have a problem with a deal not getting done before next season, and he said that is something he is talking to his agent about right now.

I think you said it all Doc
I never thought someone would replace my love of Herman Moore the way he was;played;humbleness. But Megatron has made me forget how damn good 84 really was. I hope for all of ours sake Megatron is locked up for a long time this off-season.
How many lumps you want Doc?
He, along with Pavel Datsyuk and Yzerman (throw in Lidstrom) and of course Barry...
is one of the most humble superstars that Detroit pro sports teams have ever had the privilege of having on their side. He easily could be really cocky, but he is not. Very classy man.
I love him too.
one of the few good things to come out of the millen era
Now if Best and Leshoure can stay healthy next season we should be scaaaaarrrrryyy!
Is it just me
Or does Calvin have an issue with his left (his right) eyebrow?

He seems really nervous
That might be the cause. If you flip through the still shots of the video you can see his eyebrow’s cocked up for like 75% of the interview haha
Ask him the Jordan Question:
When the contract is up and they’re in negotiations. Ask him what the Chicago Bulls asked Michael Jordan when his contract was up in Chicago. “What do you want son? Do you want ALL the money? Fine here… here’s a blank check ..you deserve it… or are you more intrested in winning a Championship?” Yes, CJ is worth his weight in gold and a kings ransom and should be the highest paid wideout in the NFL..but obviously if he gets the MASSSIVE contract that means there will be cuts elsewhere. For starters say bye bye to guys like KVDB, and Backus and Raiola and C.Will..you’ve seen the last of them. If This winds up being a team with all their money tied up in 3 to 5 players the result could be a team full of rookies(waiting to leave) and a revolving door of aging or average level players. This could also mean they’ve reached the apex of their ability. Similar to the Chargers… good but not great. Close but too far away.. Hard decisions lay ahead…
My thought
Is that Dom, Jeff, Corey, & Kyle are in the twilights of their careers. They are more like Steve Yzerman in his last couple seasons- more roll players than major contributor; still fulfilling the leadership roll, but not an essential piece of the puzzle.
This draft should yield a center, tackle, 2 defensive ends & possibly a running back. Holes need to be filled regardless of the signing of Megatron. I love the idea of asking the Michael Jackson question. If he really wants to win, he’ll be willing to take a little less to stay and build the championship team by allowing more room under the cap.
On a side note, does advertising count against the cap? If not, I think I might have a new face for Ford Motor Company…
"I’m not a talker on the field, but if you say something to me, I may say something back to you or I may ignore you. It’s funny because a lot of guys usually come up and say something to me like right before, something like ‘Have a good game,’ or whatever, and I just ignore it. I’m not here to meet friends. I’m here to cause you problems and meet your quarterback. I’ll shake his hand when I’m hitting him." Ndamakong Suh

GREAT IDEA!
50 million to tatoo a Ford logo on some apendage of his body? Possibly a bicep so after he scores a TD he just flexes his guns shows off the logo and is given another 100K?
