The Line

Well folks, after the years of turmoil here we are, in the playoffs! Exciting stuff, and whether win or lose I am just happy to be here and finally on the right track.

With that said, of course I will be pissed, moody, grumpy, crying, upset, throwing stuff up against the walls if we lose. Like any high caliber Lions fanatic, I am insane. But lets get down to business. I want to make my opinion in the main factor to win or lose this game.

For the past two years, the Lions were building and where did they start? The Defensive Line. The Silver rush or crush, I don't know. But in the past few games or even the majority of this season, the Defensive line has disappeared. Literally just vanished from its production (in comparison to last year). Now I don't know the reason and I'm not going to try to come up with one, but all I know is that this game will be resting heavily upon whether Vanden Bosch, Suh, Fairly, Williams, Avril, Lojack, Hill, and Young will step up to play and play at the level at which they are given credit for.

We all know that without a pass rush on Brees, we die. We plain, flat out die. Sure our offense can keep up with Brees for a bit, but that fades away eventually. So get that pass rush that we should be getting with the talent we have and we win, I call it.

Secret weapon: Fairly. He is not much of a secret, and Saints sure remember his destruction the first quarter of the previous meeting. Still, he has not been on the field much and I believe to win this game he will make some huge plays. Toss in an Avril Sack/fumble, a Suh sack, a Willie Young 4th quarter sack and no Encroachments penalties on Corey Williams and hey! We can do this thing. So I place this win on the Line, get it done boys.
