Lions Notes: The Pro Bowl Was Better With Wayne Fontes
- Instead of watching the 2012 Pro Bowl, @bubbaprog decided to go back in time 20 years and watch the 1992 edition of the game, which featured then-current Detroit Lions head coach Wayne Fontes:

Fontes, by the way, coached the NFC to a 21-15 victory. - Perhaps the most entertaining moment of this year's Pro Bowl was when the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot lost its clothes and attempted to distract the NFC on an extra point by chilling under the goal post in only its underwear.
- A Lions Indy car was spotted in Indianapolis, which is the site of this year's Super Bowl.
- A reader sent in a picture of his cool-looking Lions birthday cake. The Lions logo is pretty detailed for being on a cake.
- After it was leaked out by Nike, the Carolina Panthers' new, "refined" logo was officially announced on Sunday.
- Speaking of Nike, they released pictures of what their Pro Bowl cleats looked like for each team.

I miss the pro bowl skills competitions
That was really the only part of the pro bowl I was really into.
Make it bleed GG...make it bleed.
No, they just need to replace the Pro Bowl with it
Your players risk little injury wise, it’s fun, still in Hawaii.

Seriously...
I remember a few years ago when Brian Moorman (the punter for the Bills) entered the obstacle course because the didn’t have a competition for just the punters. He completely blew away everybody’s time. Then he was disqualified because they said he didn’t put enough of an effort into actually pushing the sled. Lame. Gotta say, Moorman is a speedy lil bastard.
Make it bleed GG...make it bleed.
I remember that.
I think with the 5-second add-on or whatever he still blew everybody out. So cool.
If they have to play a game
How about going back to an old format, Pro vs College All stars.
Scrub the Senior Bowl and the Pro Bowl and combine them and let the kids see what the next level looks like. The coaches and scouts get to see how the young guys actually do against veteran players before they draft them

I'd watch that.
It would be just as relaxed but the pros would try because they don’t want to be shown up and the seniors want to prove they belong. Plus that would be some good scouting film.

that is a good idea
But then the risk is a college kid having a career ending injury before he is even in the NFL. That would suck. But I would much rather watch the game your talking about.
