Sapp on Suhhhhh
Hello all,
So, I'm sure a lot of you saw the article about Warren Sapp's comments on Suh's year. I think It's worth a read because I happen to agree with it a lot.
It mentions how Suh's game is mostly about powering through people and that he had rotator cuff surgery which could have contributed to his lack of production.
Here is the link------>>> http://www.detroitlions.com/news/sbxlvi/article-1/Warren-Sapp-says-there-are-holes-in-Ndamukong-Suhs-game/b3939c91-f80d-4346-98ae-9d4b6f24d9c5
I really agree with the part about not moving Suh around enough. Seriously, how many times did we get gashed by the Wham play on the left side. I think the Wide 9 is fine but when you run the Wide 9 you have to use more deception otherwise it leaves your DT's hung out to dry. I figured it would make for good discussion as we wait for the combine.
Also, Zack Brown and Dre Kirkpatrick looks like busts. (just wanted to get that in there in the even this turns into a draft article)
On an unrelated note to everyone...Write your FanPosts in Visual View and you will get the correct spacing. Personally, I don't even read the ones that are 1 big paragraph.

I don't know if he is right
but something was up with Suh this year. I expected a drop off from last years production, but not a fall off a cliff. If it is the wide 9 to blame (and I will trust Sapp’s assessment on DTs) then I say it is time to come up with something new this offseason. People have figured out the wide 9. Time to innovate.
the wide 9 opens the tackles up for wham plays....
To me, if you want to help prevent that you should move guys around and use lot’s of deception.
The wide 9 is really good at pressuring the qb and forcing things to the inside.
Doesn't make sense to me
So, a torn rotator cuff is stronger than a reattached rotator cuff? You’d think Suh would have had power issues last year too, if that was the issue
i think people just figured him out...
that and there were times where he was having trouble recognizing weather is was run vs pass….
either way, he needs to get more dynamic.
i think our system could use some tweaking too.
sapp is jealous
his career basically died off after 2000. he is basically the nfl channel’s skip bayless. he will say anything for shock value and to hear his own voice.
as for the wide 9? hate it in its current state. its too predictable and was exposed with misdirection and max protection. they could line up in a regular 4-3 and probably beat most o-lines in the nfl with their current talent.
hopefully more talent allows gunther to switch up the scheme some more.
