I wish we were playing today.
1st round would have been a different story for us.
Fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings.
Anyone notice
Both the Falcons and the Giants are bringing pressure. I wish we would have at least attempted pressure.
Saints oline would just have tackled them, too

*Completely ignoring this game*
If the Madden Curse wasn’t so prevalent, I’d want Stafford to be on the cover.
Why in the hell did the Falcons go for it there?
3-0 is a huge lead in this game.

Smith looks like he's going to cry, Troys right, shoulda kicked the FG

Whoa
What’s this “holding” they just called on the Giants?

Falcons seriously suck on 4th and inches
They haven’t learned anything

That could be the game winning score the way this game's been played.

Minus the Saints-Lions game
The rest of these wildcard games have been extremely boring

Unfortunately
For us, however, we have to endure hours of high blood pressure watching a team coached into a level of H.S. play.
Time for Atlanta to go all out after Eli, see if they can get the little fugger to throw a pic

What the hell?
Kick the FG, take the lead into halftime.

no respect for Atlanta, I might have kicked it too
But I suppose you’d better be able to get an inch at home in the playoffs…worked out for them

They used a formula this morning on NFL network
That judged beauty by how symmetrical a QB’s face was. Matt Ryan has the most symmetrical face so by their evaluation, he is the most beautiful QB. I lost faith in the entire process….

What a weird thing to have on.
Seriously who cares? Bree’s looks like he lives in the sewers!
Andrew Luck looks like he’s half kyle orton half rat. Who gives a fuck you can play or you cant.
I have no clue
My buddy just told me they did a similar segment on Espn a week ago with a different final outcome….baby jesus was the most beautiful.

I would still have that birthmark removed off of my face if I was Brees….and I’m a Saints fan. Most Saints fans wondered wtf it was when we first signed him. I think it said in his book that he got used to it after awhile and just looked at it as apart of his face and couldn’t picture himself without it. I swear it has changed shape as the years have went by. Sometimes it looks like their is hair growing off of it and sometimes it doesn’t.

it was like the Falcons were making up plays on the fly
instead of having a series of plays ready to go.

Ugh
This is so hard to watch knowing that the Lions could easily beat both of these teams.
Honestly, the Lions would’ve beat every wild card team so far.
Sorry about yesterday
The refs gave you guys a real screwjob. Stealing that easy touchdown was a gamechanger. I swear the Saints are the annointed ones. Refs gave them Atlanta week 16, only other game of theirs I saw.
Peace, F the Refs, F the Saints.
nygmen123: Again, without Vick or Maclin, or Cromartie. Injuries don't seem to bother them. They just bring in guys to make plays
nygmen123: Stopped the Pats on the first series. Planted Brady twice. Guess what gang? This team isn't quitting. Or making excuses.
Simms-McC: Yeah -- I wish the Giants were more like the Eagles
nygmen123: In intensity and fight? Right now, so do I.
EAGLES LOSE, 38-20.
Yeah tough game for us but what can you do.
We probably were going to lose anyway. I guess its not the Saints fault the Refs gave them calls.
What else is new
Poor officiating.

I don't really even care who wins this game.
But that spot was obviously wrong even in realtime you could tell. Then where they spotted it was Still a first down despite being a yard short of where the spot should have been. They just decided it was third down.
I threw my phone across the room last night on the "failed" 3rd down conversion
I honestly couldn’t believe they gave us that spot and I can only imagine how pissed off y’all were. Definitely one of the worst calls I’ve seen in recent memory.

Something needs to be done
I’ve been wanting “officials” to be forced to do a Q and A after a game to explain themselves to the rest of the sports world why they made certain calls. If they are held accountable after every game in this way and have to defend their actions……I think every NFL team will get a more fairly called game.

I heard more complaining about the referees last night then I ever have.
Of course Lions fans are pissed but what made me happy to hear was all the non-lions fans who were angry about it. Its not about being a Lions fan or a Saints fan its about not ruining the game.
Saints may be the favorite now but for how long? I dont want the Lions to be the favorite I dont want any favorites.
Agreed
I read the yahoo article on it this morning and was surprised to see people who don’t even follow football pissed off about it. The rules have become bad enough as they are but throw in the fact that there no consistency with the calls each week and it has become a joke. I used to consider myself pretty knowledgable about the “rules” but I have no clue anymore…

Like I said in your OT earlier this week....
The Saints and the Lions have a similiar history in regards to all the heartbreak. I really didn’t want to have to play you unless it was in the NFC championship. I can’t help but root for y’all because I feel like we have been through a lot of the same things. Hell even Jared Allen threw us in the same boat, lol.

I'm rooting for the Giants for draft positioning.
A Giants win moves us up one spot. I don’t have hate or love for either team so I figure why not?
I wish Atlanta would have just handed us the #5 if they wanted to lose in the 1st round so badly.

thus proving the point
the change worked until other teams learned what we were doing. We failed desperately, to upgrade and alter our defensive plan, we were extremely predictable and teams too advantage of that.
OVER and OVER with the culmination of last night. 620 offensive yards for one team who never had to punt once. Let me say that again. The Saints never punted all game.
That is a square kick in the nutz in a season of defensive stomach punches.

Wasn't that more a fault of that damn Wide 9 BS the defense tries to use?
I mean, is what’s wrong with a conventional 4-3 and blitzing guys? From what I’ve read, running a wide 9 basically tells your opponent you’re not blitzing. Seems stupid.

We have some age on the O-Line. Backus and Raiola are getting into their 30s, but since they were around for the dark ages of Lions football, they’ve gotta feel damn near 50.

i know and NFL Network shows almost everyones locker room speech after a game. even when they lose
maybe when they show the re-play?
Wow what a joke. Falcons you suck.
We are bitching about our team having too much talent to lose badly look at the Falcons. Wow.
Why is the clock running
to close out the 3rd quarter when the player ran out of bounds to end the previous play?
Is there some provision that both coaches can allow the clock to expire? I wondered the same thing after the kneel-down by the Saints with 36 seconds left in the game last night. By rule, should that not have turned the ball back to the Lions (however inconsequential it may have been)?

My girlfriend just said she saw the Jim Schwartz presser on Detroit lions.com earlier today.
She said it was chopped up really bad but not they seem to have pulled it completely.
This game is getting out of hand.
No way the Falcons can come back now with how badly their offense is playing.
I think I'd rather be shutout than only have the safety on the board.

I’m just a fan and you know Stafford’s injury would knock out one of those #1 picks and the fact Ryan has seen the Pro Bowl and led the Falcons to the #1 NFC seed would knock out another, so whatever.

I would take Matt Ryan and the 1st overall pick this year for Stafford.
The chance to take Andrew Luck could be traded for at least two, probably three #1s and that would be worth it in my opinion.
If you did that you would trade luck?
Hell no, keep luck. Trade Ryan to some stupid team for a 1st and a second or two and love life.
