They used a formula this morning on NFL network

That judged beauty by how symmetrical a QB’s face was. Matt Ryan has the most symmetrical face so by their evaluation, he is the most beautiful QB. I lost faith in the entire process….

I would still have that birthmark removed off of my face if I was Brees….and I’m a Saints fan. Most Saints fans wondered wtf it was when we first signed him. I think it said in his book that he got used to it after awhile and just looked at it as apart of his face and couldn’t picture himself without it. I swear it has changed shape as the years have went by. Sometimes it looks like their is hair growing off of it and sometimes it doesn’t.

Honestly, the Lions would’ve beat every wild card team so far.

Sorry about yesterday

The refs gave you guys a real screwjob. Stealing that easy touchdown was a gamechanger. I swear the Saints are the annointed ones. Refs gave them Atlanta week 16, only other game of theirs I saw.

Peace, F the Refs, F the Saints.

nygmen123: Again, without Vick or Maclin, or Cromartie. Injuries don't seem to bother them. They just bring in guys to make plays
nygmen123: Stopped the Pats on the first series. Planted Brady twice. Guess what gang? This team isn't quitting. Or making excuses.
Simms-McC: Yeah -- I wish the Giants were more like the Eagles
nygmen123: In intensity and fight? Right now, so do I.

But that spot was obviously wrong even in realtime you could tell. Then where they spotted it was Still a first down despite being a yard short of where the spot should have been. They just decided it was third down.

Something needs to be done

I’ve been wanting “officials” to be forced to do a Q and A after a game to explain themselves to the rest of the sports world why they made certain calls. If they are held accountable after every game in this way and have to defend their actions……I think every NFL team will get a more fairly called game.

Better to reign in hell, than serve in heaven-John Milton

by AcquiredPanic on Jan 8, 2012 2:54 PM EST up reply actions

I heard more complaining about the referees last night then I ever have.

Of course Lions fans are pissed but what made me happy to hear was all the non-lions fans who were angry about it. Its not about being a Lions fan or a Saints fan its about not ruining the game.

Saints may be the favorite now but for how long? I dont want the Lions to be the favorite I dont want any favorites.

by Eddie Apoc on Jan 8, 2012 3:04 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed

I read the yahoo article on it this morning and was surprised to see people who don’t even follow football pissed off about it. The rules have become bad enough as they are but throw in the fact that there no consistency with the calls each week and it has become a joke. I used to consider myself pretty knowledgable about the “rules” but I have no clue anymore…

thus proving the point

the change worked until other teams learned what we were doing. We failed desperately, to upgrade and alter our defensive plan, we were extremely predictable and teams too advantage of that.

OVER and OVER with the culmination of last night. 620 offensive yards for one team who never had to punt once. Let me say that again. The Saints never punted all game.

That is a square kick in the nutz in a season of defensive stomach punches.

I mean, is what’s wrong with a conventional 4-3 and blitzing guys? From what I’ve read, running a wide 9 basically tells your opponent you’re not blitzing. Seems stupid.

Is there some provision that both coaches can allow the clock to expire? I wondered the same thing after the kneel-down by the Saints with 36 seconds left in the game last night. By rule, should that not have turned the ball back to the Lions (however inconsequential it may have been)?
