Friday is going to be a very important day for Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best. He isn't eligible to come off the PUP list until next week, but he will essentially find out whether or not that will actually happen on Friday. That is because the results of the latest round of concussion tests he took on Monday will be released on Friday. If Best is finally cleared, he should be back on the practice field next week. If not, it's likely that he won't play at all the rest of this season.

Best talked with the media about this process on Thursday. He said he hasn't experienced any symptoms related to a concussion in months, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be cleared. The tests he took on Monday were the first ones for him in three months, according to Dave Birkett, so let's hope whatever was keeping him from being cleared last time is no longer an issue.

If Best is unable to get cleared this time around, the big question mark will revolve around if he should continue playing football. It's been almost a year since he suffered the concussion that has kept him out, and it may be time for Best to start taking a serious look at his future if he doesn't get cleared.

For what it's worth, Best told Birkett that he and the Lions will "sit back down and have more discussions and see where we can go from there" if he isn't cleared. Let's hope it doesn't come to that and Best does get cleared on Friday.
