The Lions have zero discipline on and off the field. They play down to the level of the competition and show no urgency on offense until the final minutes of the game. It is 100% on the coaching staff. They insist on establishing the run and dig themselves in a hole and attempt to win with the pass at the end of every game. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. The Lions would be 4-1 if they had an average NFL coaching staff.
Scott Linehans play calling is terrible. I've never played a down of organized football
In my life but am able to predict the play calling with 80% accuracy so I'm sure the opposing defense is at least that good. These 3rd and short shotgun formations and going for a twenty yard pass when then need five is more to blame for this offenses lack of production than any errant throws by stafford or drops by receivers.
Every win the Lions get, I wish I could give some credit to the coaching staff, but the reality is.....I can only give credit to the players, because every win means that the players talent overcame the bad coaching. Based on what I have seen from Schwartz the past three years, i'd say he should get some hotseat consideration, or at the very least, if the Lions miss the playoffs should be forced to make some changes on the coaching staff, because this coach your team into a hole for 3 1/2 quarters and hope for a huge play, and ba break with 3
mins left every game wont fly.
