Ask A Texans Fan: Turkey Day in Detroit

Good morning Lion fans.

In this weeks edition of Ask a (Fill in the Blank) Fan: we bring you the AFC leader, the Houston Texans. I know for you it probably hurts your soul seeing the legendary RB with a Texans Logo, but Arian was undrafted so 31 other teams lost out on picking him up too. Oh you mean the other guy in the picture? Oh that is just some guy who said he loves watching Arian run the ball. I am just messing with you guys. Some of my best Thanksgivings were spent watching the gentleman on the right playing on turkey day. Barry Sanders was one of my favorite RBs I have had the chance of watching, right there with Earl Campbell, and Bo Jackson (Tecmo Bowl anyone?). I honestly thought, as do a large portion of intelligent fans, that if Barry had the line that Emmitt had Barry would be the one with the all time rushing record. But alas he never wanted to play for anyone but the Lions, but also left the league with a lot left in the tank, along with health that my favorite back (and many other backs) doesn't have. But this post is not about the past, it is about Thursday morning's (for me early morning living in AZ) game. Thanksgiving day games have been much enjoyed in my house since I was little, but mostly because my family has been Cowboy fans for a long time (though some of us have renounced any affiliation to that team), and because of the Texas vs Texas A&M hundred + year tradition of playing on or the day after Thanksgiving. (RIP the intrastate rivalry).

Seeing as you guys are in the NFC, and we are in the AFC we don't pay a lot of attention to the others team, so we are filled with questions based on popular thought and small sample size. If you have a question feel free to ask, and I will try to answer your queries. Also if someone would like to go to Battle Red Blog and post a similar post it would be much appreciated, and I will add a link to it in this post.

Fire away Lions fans.
