Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE
The Detroit Lions have put Jacob Lacey on injured reserve and filled his roster spot with Ron Bartell.
Cornerback Jacob Lacey is officially out for the season. The Detroit Lions placed him on injured reserve on Tuesday and decided to sign cornerback Ron Bartell to take his place on the roster.
Bartell is from the city of Detroit and spent part of 2012 with the Oakland Raiders. He was active for a total of six games and had 14 tackles and 4 pass defenses. Before signing with Oakland, Bartell spent the first seven seasons of his career with the St. Louis Rams after being a second-round pick in 2005. (In college, he attended Central Michigan before transferring to Howard.)
Lacey joined the Lions last offseason and ended up playing in 11 games in 2012. He suffered a subluxation of his knee cap on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and was unable to return to the game. He will now miss the final two games of the season because of the injury.
