VIDEO: Matthew Stafford Interviewed On SportsCenter
While in town to film a "This Is SportsCenter" commercial, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford stopped by the set of SportsCenter for an interview. He discussed several topics, including his 5,000-yard season, what's next for the Lions, what it's like to play with Calvin Johnson, his reaction to Gisele Bundchen's comments after the Super Bowl and what his prediction is for the Lions in 2012. Video of the interview can be found after the jump.
My favorite answers from the interview were Stafford's responses to the questions about what to expect next season. Here they are (via MLive, which has a transcript of the interview):
CK: Last year you predicted you'd play every game and the Lions would be a playoff team. What's your prediction for next year?
Stafford: Hopefully more of the same. I enjoyed playing all the games, being out there with the guys. Hopefully we can make it back to the playoffs and make a run at it.
CK: One and done in the playoffs?
Stafford: No, hopefully we're going further. It's not fun going one and done, that's for sure.
Over the last few years, the Lions have slowly improved. They went from the bottom of the league to the middle and to the top half this past season. Now, the next step is for the Lions to sustain the success they had in 2011 by again making the playoffs and actually winning a game in the postseason. They only have one playoff victory since 1957, so it's obviously easier said than done, but that is what the Lions need to strive to do next.

Nice interview..........but.......
I can’t get over how young Stafford looks. he looks like a college sophomore for crying out loud!
"I’m sorry for all the people who want us to run the ball 40 times a game, but we’re going to put the ball in No. 9’s hands and he’s going to make plays for us like he did today," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. Amen to that Jim!
The amazing thing is that Stafford has been in the NFL for three years and just turned 24
Andrew Luck will turn 23 around the start of the 2012 season.
