For the sake of driving myself insane, I've spared myself from reading to many mock drafts. Just by reading super mediums like ESPN, SI.com etc., I have yet to see a consistent mock pick for the Lions. It's a known fact that Mr. Mayhew will pick the best player available as opposed to the Lions greatest need. So there is absolutely no guarantee that Mayhew will draft a Tackle, OLB or CB even though the Lions desperately need one and their cap space is beyond suffocating at this point. Now I've thought of the only thing that hasn't been mentioned yet and that is that Mr. Mayhew will be feeling dicey on Day 1 and might unload cap space by trading somebody like Corey Williams or Nate Burleson or even KVB to a team needing a solid leader and presence in exchange for 10 picks or so higher in the draft. I don't think that will happen but I don't think anything other than getting rid of Stafford, Megatron or Suh is unrealistic. We all have our own philosophies about the NFL and our Lions. In saying that, I think the best thing we can do is do what we can to keep all of the guys mentioned above as well as resigning Avril, Tulloch and Backus. I was impressed with Eric Wright this year but not to make my final cut of FA's to resign. The Lions had a solid yet still inexperienced core this year and I believe keeping the same squad together by upgrading through the draft is the best option. I don't have a prediction on what the Lions are going to do on the Draft weekend but I'm hoping that Mayhew sticks to his own intelligence that we have all grown to love over the last few years and keeps picking solid.
