Decisions, Decisions, Decisions
Just wondering what everyone thought about what our Lions approach should be this offseason. Should they try to retain all their guys and have their hands tied a bit in free agency? Should they let Avril walk and see what LoJack or Willie Young can do? Should they add on offense and create an absolute juggernaut? Or address the defense and bolster an already solid defense (well early in the season at least)? Maybe they could try to clear cap space for the future? Maybe they should spend to the max this year and try to make a run? So many possibilities, but which is the best one?

Growth year?
The only way to improve offense immediately is with a dominant RB.
We don’t have the money to buy one.
Mayhew will draft OL or DB, but he’s always good for a surprise.
Obviously retain all we can within the cap.
Keep coaching up our 2nd tier players to achieve a more solid base.
That means retaining if possible, our leadership on the team.
I disagree with anyone that thinks we are 1 or 2 players away from a super bowl.
We are still building a contender, and this year’s cap space isn’t going to allow
for any major changes.
Expectations don't produce!

We already have one: LeShoure.
Count it son!
It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.

Can't count it dad
Man hasn’t taken a snap, and I wonder how his anticipated acceleration will progress.

Sometimes, my child, you just have to have faith.

Avril is gone
I have resigned myself to this already. (did I use resigned correctly there? :P)
Signing him would cost too many other productive players on defense.

-There are approximately 45 cats and dogs for every person born.
-Only 1 out of 10 dogs born ever get a home.
-Only 1 out of 12 cats born ever find a home.
-Approximately 800 dogs & cats are KILLED each HOUR in the United States, because there are not enough homes for them!
Nothing much we can do
Cap squeeze dictates this. Hold on to what we’ve got and try to pick up good pieces in the draft. Obviously, no FA’s and Avril goes out and gets paid.
