Maybe throw up a picture. Some stats would be nice. Also, you could tell us what your opinion is.
It's turkey, Lions and Macy's. Any other combination is just ludicrous.

No need to get snarky. I was at work and came across the story but didn’t have a whole lot of time. Just thought it was a good topic to spark some conversation. But since you asked, I agree with you. He’ll be overpriced for a 2nd tier CB. We can’t afford that right now.

I don't think he was being "snarky".
I think he was just saying that posting “words” 862 times does not a quality post make.

He does kind of have a point.
If you’re just going to post a link and not actually write something, this should be a fanshot and not a post. Not being snarky, just don’t see the point of posting just a link and saying words over and over again to fill up the minimum limit.
Make it bleed GG...make it bleed.
heck, even this reply would have been more informative

I wasn't being (trying to) snarky
I was giving my opinion on what would make it a better fanpost. I did use a little sarcasm, I always do, but there was no malicious intent.

Apparently I saw the need to say that twice.

My opinion
pass. I believe it was Profiler who said we have amassed a myriad of No. 2 corners. Let’s not add another and overpay doing so.

I don't want to overpay
but after looking at how bad our depth was last year and how we had to rush guys back before they were healthy, another no. 2 corner wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Thoughts on Routt
Routt is solid, but he’s far too penalized for my liking. It is a surprise he’s been cut, but he’s far more suited to be a team’s true #2.
I’ll pass.

According to PFF he was called for seventeen penalties last year.
SEVENTEEN!!??!! I find that hard to believe.
He did have some nice pass coverage numbers; 51% completed against, with 3 INTs and 10 passes defenced. He was also a pretty durable guy playing over 1,000 snaps each of the last two years.
He had a lot of penalties in 2010 11 and 2009 9 too.
Overall, I would pass. I don’t think he would be that much of an upgrade over Eric Wright.
"I’m sorry for all the people who want us to run the ball 40 times a game, but we’re going to put the ball in No. 9’s hands and he’s going to make plays for us like he did today," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. Amen to that Jim!
Agree
Was just over at silverandblackpride.com reading the reaction of Raider fans about 90% were happy to see him go. They said he was no more than a number 2 and was penalized far too much. They also said he was grossly over paid. Sooooo.
Pass

Dominating your opposition physically is great and all, but confounding them mentally is sooo much more fun.
2-15-DEN 44(14:36) (Shotgun) K.Moreno up the middle to DEN 47 for 3 yards (N.Suh). FUMBLES (N.Suh), RECOVERED by DET-N.Suh at DEN 47. N.Suh to DEN 47 for no gain (K.Moreno). FUMBLES (K.Moreno), recovered by DET-C.Houston at DEN 47. C.Houston to DEN 47 for no gain (O.Franklin). Denver challenged the fumble ruling, and the play was REVERSED. (Shotgun) K.Moreno up the middle to DEN 49 for 5 yards (S.Tulloch).
Well, there is one less spend happy team in the NFL now it seems.
Oh well, one less team to overpay for Avril. That is good for us.

lol
I really am kind of curious to see how they develop these next couple years. It’s like having a totally different team in the mix.

I am too
it is like an open expiriement. Everyone gets too see the difference. Does it make a difference in the performance of the team or does it hold them back?

Luckily (not exactly) I am surrounded by Oakland fans
I am also curious, however, it seems that the Raider fans here are wildly divided on what needs/is happening. Nobody that I talk to seems totally sure on what to think or where they’re going. I don’t blame them, they’re still stunned and sad by Al’s passing. He was the team, what direction will they go now? Who’s going to take the reigns like Al did? I look forward to finding out.

if they run the team like Al,
I think “reigns” is quite applicable

I think he will be overpriced but...
I think we are all jumping to the #2 conclusion and I’m just curious how many true #1s there are in the league and how much of a difference they make for their teams from a cost/benefit perspective?
I’d say Revis, Nnamdi and P. Peterson (small sample set) are all special players. I’d even say Joe Haden and J. Joseph are well above average. After that there’s not a lot of #1 CBs IMHO.
For example, who were the #1s in the Super Bowl? Both teams played solid defense, but I didn’t see a #1 CB making that big of a difference. At least not big enough that I would grade out the need to have a #1 CB as a requirement to get to and win a Super Bowl.
Nonetheless, to stay on point for the right price I would bring in Routt in a second. I like our nasty reputation. With maturity we will learn to focus that energy execute within our system and be a top tier feared defense for years to come. Routt could help with that.
He’s a heck of an athlete and has the frame to add weight and maybe play safety down the line like P. Peterson. I don’t think you pass on that for a decent price.
Go Lions!!!
Almost there...
Mike Adams
Vontaze Burfict
Michael Brewster
David Molk
for a decent price.
That’s the key. I don’t think Routt will come for a decent price.

You might be surprised.
Judging by the way he played this season, combined with the salary cap, and you have a scenario I would be shocked to see a team give him a big payday. He’ll draw interest, no doubt, but he’s not gonna be expensive.
might be a good pickup in fa just licke wright was las year for the lions lets sea if the price is right i say hell yes
if the price is right i say hell yes
The right price for the lions appears to be league minimum this coming season. We just do not have room under the cap.

I believe Routt will command a healthy wage
from a team with room. Pats? Titans as a replacement for what’s his name?
