It's been awhile since I've been on, so this will be old news. I'd like to start with the love nobody shows to Stafford, the man, in his first full season, had one of the most impressive seasons in history, but in the same league as Brees, Brady, and Rodgers, he gets no recognition. I don't have the stats right off hand, but I do know he had more yards than Rodgers, and I'm almost positive he had more TDs than Brady, yet, Rodgers can do no wrong, and Brady is everyones favorite to worship, and Brees is nothing less than a god, so let's forget about the great performance by the guy on the Lions, they suck anyway, they went 0-16!
Which brings me to my next gripe, The crappy Colts. How in the world did they get two wins? They were terrible, much worst than the Lions 0-16 team. If the two played, there would be absolutely no way this past years Colts would beat the 0-16 Lions from a few years back. Although I'm glad that Orlovsky took over and showed he isn't just some turd from the lowly winless lions, the team it self is an all around septic tank, the Colts that is, and I think their owner really wants to keep it that way. Why would you cut one of the all time great QBs ever? I don't understand it.
We made the playoffs, which was a wonderful thing for a team who hasn't been relevant for many many years, unfortunately, the game was against the Saints who has one of the most potent offenses this league has ever seen. The Lions would have beat anyone else in the first round, but it was their own fault, all they had to do was win the last game of the season, against a backup QB. On that day, they made that backup look like one of the greatest who ever played. I don't know if it was the bad secondary, or the above average receivers, but it was pathetic, and made everyone think twice about how good the defense really is. Everyone already knew the secondary was below average, but after that, everyone saw how bad it really is, and i really don't think it could get any worst. Cut them all i say, I still like Chris Houston, but he is not a number 1 corner, and i think the safetys are a bit overrated.
Overall, this past year was a big success, and the sky's the limit. The team did much better than I expected, I picked them to be 8-8 before the season started, so congratulations to the Lions, no one deserves it more than they do, and let's give em hell for years to come.
