Free-agent safety LaRon Landry is scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions at some point, but that visit will not happen if the New York Jets have their way. They brought Landry to a town for a visit on Sunday, and it sounds like they don't want him to leave without a deal.
Jets are making an aggressive push for free-agent safety LaRon Landry, per source. he has a few options at this point. #nfl— Manish Mehta(@TheJetsStream) March 19, 2012
Considering that Landry does seem to have a few options to choose from, that doesn't really bode well for the Lions. For starters, his visit would have to happen in order for them to sign him, and they would also have to offer a competitive deal. I have my doubts that they will be able to given the interest he is generating.
UPDATE: The Jets have agreed to terms with Landry.
