The #FreeStanton movement is well on its way to being a success. The New York Jets have reportedly realized that they screwed up by backing out on a promise they made to Drew Stanton about not going after any other quarterbacks, and according to multiple reports, they are trying to rectify the situation by moving Stanton.

According to the New York Daily News, Stanton has requested to be released or traded in the wake of the Tim Tebow trade. When Stanton signed with the Jets, he was under the impression that he would for sure be Mark Sanchez's backup. With Tebow coming in and already being called the backup, however, Stanton wants out, and I don't blame him. The whole reason he signed with the Jets in the first place was to not be a third-string quarterback again, and if he stays there, that is exactly what will happen.
Most quarterback situations have been settled by now, so it will be interesting to see where Stanton lands.
