According to the New York Daily News, Stanton has requested to be released or traded in the wake of the . When Stanton signed with the Jets, he was under the impression that he would for sure be tradeMark Sanchez's backup. With Tebow coming in and already being called the backup, however, Stanton wants out, and I don't blame him. The whole reason he signed with the Jets in the first place was to not be a third-string quarterback again, and if he stays there, that is exactly what will happen.
Most quarterback situations have been settled by now, so it will be interesting to see where Stanton lands.
