Listening to all of the Manning talk I heard a few people talk bout Indiana as a basketball state. I have to agree with that statement. States like Florida and Texas are clearly football states. Other states like California and Michigan less defined.
What determines these distinctions? Is it the success in a respective sport that determines this? If so, which level weighs heavier? College, Pros, or even high school? If it is success that determines it, it would be hard to label Michigan.
Most states have the big three, some states have the big three and hockey. Michigan has the big four. Does that make Michigan a hockey state? We do have Hockeytown. Although there are some Minnesotans who may disagree.
I want to hear some opinions, I want perspectives form all over the state and even out of towners.
