Analyzing the Lion's " iffy " draft of 2012

IF Reiff can come in and start anywhere on the line and show us NFL caliber pass protection skills from day one - If Broyles can show out as a receiver that has a sense for quickly getting open and giving Stafford a reliable option in his progressions consistently ( I'm talking 25 quality catches in the second half of the season plus the playoffs) - If Bentley can turn and run, if Green can turn and run - If Greenwood can translate his physicality into some kind of role ( somehow my intuition is telling me the guy will transition more seamlessly as a safety) - if Whitehead becomes a coverage ace on special teams like Eukiejuba - if Ronnel can rush the edge and " hammer " some opponents on special teams - if Travis Lewis can stick with us as a developmental linebacker - if, if, if, - if 3/4's of the above happen - then this is a quality draft. The thing that stands out the most to me this morning is that I think the Philly's and the Chicago's and the Arizona's and Dallas and Washington and Carolina and hell, even Minnesota improved through this draft too. The Giants and Niners drafted well and became even better. So I think the Lion's coaching staff just needs to really develop our talent and " ride no. 9 ". We still need to play things smart in free agency and through trades. Hopefully, we'll continue to make progress and show out in " prime time ". I think we win a few shootouts and make the playoffs again this upcoming season.
