Left tackle's supposedly need a large wing span to be effective. Riley Rieff has been criticized for having short arms. To short as a matter of fact to be effective at the left tackle position. Did you know that Riley wingspan is almost identical to Matt Kalil the Vikings 1st round pick? Or try this on for size Riley's wingspan is actually longer than the two best tackles in the NFL Jake Long and Joe Thomas. Many fans and TV people have openly talked about Riley having short arms. Which isn't only a bad excuse it is a flat out lie. I for one am in love with this pick and I think the over criticism of many prospects this year was sad and in ESPN case was actually disgusting. In the case of Riley not being able to play the blindside because his "arms are to short" is a completely false.. His arm length is average among all the best tackles in the NFL. Not way longer or to short...his wingspan is right where you expect any tackle to be. Ideal yeah his arms would be longer but you really can't hold that against him. If Jake Long can make it work why can't Riley Reiff?
