Assessing my personal picks...

... for my lottery ticket.

Here are the numbers I picked:

8, 12, 24, 33, 37, 44

Breakdown after the jump.

Pick #1: 8

What can I say, #8 was there and I couldn't pass up a chance like that. (Especially being a fan of Alex Ovechkin. I admit Tony Romo gave me pause, but everybody loves Matt Hasselbeck, right?)

Pick #2: 12

Many might have questioned taking 12 here, especially with #9 AND #11 still on the board, but I watched a LOT of tape on #12 including 12 Monkeys, 12 Angry Men, 2012, Ocean's 12, and of course The Dirty Dozen. I'm confident I made the right decision here.

Pick #3: 24

This one was a no brainer. I can't believe 24 was still available! Divisible by BOTH of my previous picks, number 24 has shown distinction in not only being the numbers of hours in a day, it is also my favorite way to buy beer.

Pick #4: 33

I really wanted #24 here, but alas, somebody had already picked that number! I took 33 instead. A nice consolation.

Pick #5: 37

A much lesser known number. But you can't argue with a number that has a nickname like "prime"

Pick #6: 44

Anybody from Syracuse will tell you why I picked this number. I think it can really help out my lotto ticket on the whole.

So all in all, I'm pretty happy with my picks. I wanted to take pi but apparently pi was not allowed to participate because of some sort of prejudice. Apparently it is too irrational for the mainstream integers. (yeah, I just did that. A pun AND a math joke all at the same time! If you rolled your eyes at that one, I have done my job)

Of course we won't know how it goes until they actually come into play when the numbers are announced, but I'm pretty confident in my draft strategy, and despite some criticism, I think I'm that much closer to the ultimate goal.

What do you guys think? Based on these numbers, will I win the lotto?
