On Janoris Jenkins if he is still available at #23.
I may be in minority on this but i still feel Janoris is the 2nd best corner in this draft based on talent alone. Obvioulsy his baggage is and has scared alot of teams away from him in the 1st round and maybe even the entire draft. My opinion is based on this thought... Taking him at 23 is less of a risk than the situation we where looking at with jimmy smith last year at pick 13, The rookie wage scale is low and we may be able to work incentive deals into his contract to assure he keeps his nose clean. Granted in every draft im sure everyone has that one player or position they want our lions to draft and slam the table when it doesnt happen, like the cherilus pick with rashard mendenhall on the board or fairley instead of prince. It seems every team drafts on hope a faith which i cant fault them for.
Oline and secondary are HUGE needs and both must be addressed in rounds 1 and 2, but to say no to a talent of Jenkins at the value of the 23rd pick to me isnt smart. On the other hand i would have to eat my words if he pulls a charles rogers on us. If they do pass i would have to start to look into the organization and wonder if the leshoure and fairley incidents make the lions feel that our locker room isnt strong enough with enough leaders to keep them or a possibly troubled rookie on the right track.
Just would hate to see the packers or patriots take a "chance" on him and see him turn into a shut down corner that we could have had.... But hey its all on Faith.
