In other NFL news.... The MLB from the Saints, Jonathan Vilma filed a defamation lawsuit against Roger Goodell. Let's talk about the positives of this...
You can read the filed complaint here.... LINKY (Thanks to ESPN for the Link)
IMHO, this is a good move on a couple of levels.
1. This suit will bring out the entire evidence and validate Goodell's decisions on the matter.
2. It will allow the implicated players to directly confront the evidence presented.
3. Provides a check and balance of Goodell's power/authority.
4. Affect the way the NFL handles the players in this type of situation in the future.
I'm not a fan of lawsuits, but here we have a President of a large 'monopoly' type organization that controls and disciplines all the employees of the 32 businesses it also loosely regulates. It almost seem like the coach's disciplinary decision went too smooth... everyone went with it due to the coaches responsibility in the situation. When the players' fate came, it just seemed almost too much for Vilma... the entire season? Then not to show evidence to why you came to the conclusion? (I emphasized show the evidence)
Anyhow, it makes for a good discussion. Oh, BTW... did you guys see the sky above Detroit the other day?....
