Lions Agree To Deal With Draft Pick Travis Lewis

Stay connected for news and updates

Just an hour ago, it was reported that the Detroit Lions were "close" to completing deals for some of their 2012 NFL Draft picks. Close was an accurate description of the situation, because the Lions have now agreed to terms on a four-year deal with linebacker Travis Lewis, according to Adam Caplan. Here is the breakdown of Lewis' deal:

Lewis is the first Lions draft pick to get a deal done this year. Dave Birkett reports that Lewis plans to make the deal official by signing it on Thursday when he arrives for the rookie minicamp that begins on Friday. Lewis said negotiations were "pain free" and he's just happy to "get paid to do something" that he loves.

Based on how quickly other teams have been signing their draft picks, I'd imagine that most or all of the Lions' other draft picks will get their deals done in the near future.
