Hey Everybody...hope you are all having a smashing offseason filled with anticipation for what is coming in a few short months.
I was reading an article about the rookie symposium coming up and something kind of clicked. I was wondering how beneficial this symposium might actually be for these young kids. I came to the conclusion that it is probably a great thing. I mean, 4 out of 5 draft picks, really? That has to be some kind of record, right? Fairley, Leshoure, Culbreath, and Young did not attend a Rookie Symposium because of the lockout last year. There wasn't one.
All I am saying is that this might have been just the thing these guys needed. They are holding it in Canton, OH so that these kids get an idea of what being an NFL player is all about. The history and all that good stuff. Guest speakers include a bankrupt Luther Elliss. He might be a guy these kids want to hear out. There is a story there somewhere.
Sorry to rehash the subject again. Just kind of seemed weird to me that there is no symposium for 2011, fast forward to all our draft picks finding themselves in some kind of personal issue(s). Except for Doug Hogue, who hasn't been caught yet. Just kidding.
With that being said, this is the second post I ever wrote and I hope I contributed (extremely tiny amount). I am remaining positive that our 2011 rookies will bounce back and be who we thought they were!! (insert piss poor Dennis Green impression here)! They can and probably will be great players and seem to already be impressing on the field through camps. Also, I just like to say and type the work "symposium".
