The final 10 spots of NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2012" series were revealed on Wednesday night. Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson came in at No. 3, which is actually a bit higher than where most expected him to land on this year's version of the list.
Last year, Johnson was ranked 27th by his fellow players. He vaulted up 24 spots this year thanks to a career season in 2011. He had 96 catches for 1,681 yards and 16 TD last season, so it's no surprise he moved up all the way into the top five. I am somewhat surprised that he cracked the top three, though.
Here's a look at the full top 10:
- QB Aaron Rodgers (Packers)
- QB Drew Brees (Saints)
- WR Calvin Johnson (Lions)
- QB Tom Brady (Patriots)
- CB Darrelle Revis (Jets)
- LB DeMarcus Ware (Cowboys)
- WR Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals)
- RB Adrian Peterson (Vikings)
- DT Haloti Ngata (Ravens)
- LB Patrick Willis (49ers)
