While I'm bending an ear to the NBA draft - I wanted to post my early prediction for the Lion's 53.
I have a hunch that a guy like James Bryant will the take one of the last spots because of special teams ability, athleticism, youth, and versatility.
I have Stovall making the team as a 5th receiver because of special teams play and his adding a different dimension as a red zone threat 5th receiver.
I only have the Lions keeping two guards because Hilliard and others can back-up there. I don't think the Lions will cut-bait on Fox or Cherilus just yet. So they'll keep 5 OT's, 2 OG's, and 2 Centers.
I have Kellen Moore making the team as a 3rd QB. The guy will show that he can deliver the ball accurately to the open read - and that will be enough - he'll make the team - but hopefully never dress.
On defense - I have a suspicion that the Lions will still make a move or two in the secondary that will shake up the list of the ten players I have penciled in for those spots right now.
Somehow - this team still needs a shut down corner and a play maker at safety. The long term plans for a player like Delmas come into play now too. We'll see.
Everette Brown might be a tough cut. Wendling doesn't make the team this time around. Silva will be a last cut that I hope stays with us on the practice squad.
