One of the big stories from Detroit Lions training camp last year was the Achilles injury Mikel Leshoure suffered. It happened early on in camp and was a big blow to the Lions' running game. There was a lot of promise surrounding a combination of Jahvid Best and Leshoure in the backfield, but we never really got a good look at it due to the injury.
This year, one of the big stories going into Lions training camp is Leshoure's health. While the reports so far this offseason have indicated that he is on track in his recovery, it's not clear just how much he will be able to do from day one of camp. If it's up to Leshoure, he'd probably like there to be no limitations, as he tweeted on Monday that he is 100 percent healthy.
All my fans who are wondering about my health the Achilles is feeling better than ever and I will be going into camp 100 percent— Mikel LeShoure (@MikelLeShoure25) July 16, 2012
Even if Leshoure ends up being good to go for the start of the regular season, he will have to wait until Week 3 to play due to his suspension. Even so, it seems like Leshoure is well on track in his recovery, which is good news for the preseason and when he is eligible to play in the regular season.
