So we had it cut out for us with all the off season arrests lions have had. While everyone loves writing the Lions down to the extent they want to make Young & Delmas affair a big time issue (like it never happens anywhere else)...or the claims that Stafford's numbers are inflated because of CJ (doesn't each QB out there who had good numbers have one or more good WRs/TEs helping them out??) Anyhow..it pisses me off when all everyone has to talk about all these shit and the shoddy DB group. I wanted to take a holistic look at the last 12 months across NFL and see where we stand in terms on arrests. Its pretty interesting. The so called pseudo experts claim that Lions are the most undisciplined team in NFL is total crap. That goes to our neighbors, The Vikings..
Lets take a look at the number of arrests since August 2011 (start of pre-season) and see how bad it looks on Lions. Obviously no one has beaten us to take up the #i slot but the issues with Lions have been weed and DUI and nothing else..Without further ado..here goes
49ers: Ray McDonald, Aldon Smith
Bengals: Rey Maualaga
Lions: Johnny Culbreath, Mikel Leshoure (2), Nick Fairley (2) , Aaron Berry
Jaguars: Nate Collins, Justin Blackmon, Odrick Ray
Seahawks, Leroy Hill, Jarriel King, Marshawn Lynch,
Colts: Samson Satale
Raiders: Darrius Hawyard-Bey, Ronaldo McClain
Redskins: Brandon Merriweather
Vikings: Caleb King, Jerome Felton, Adrian Peterson, Benny Sapp, Chris Cook, Tyrell Johnson, Rhett Bomar
Jets: Muhammed WIlkerson
Bucs: Eric Wright
Broncos: Elvis Dumervil, Knowson Moreno, Ryan McBean, Matt Prater
Cowboys: Dez Bryant, Kevin Ogletree
Packers: Erik Walden, Johnny Jolly
Panthers: Lawrence Wilson
Patriots: Julian Edelman
So that covers all the arrests from September 2, 2011. And where do we stand? Second after the Vikings. I don't see the pundits asking for Vikings to clean up or Cowboys/Seahawks to release their top play makers to send the message. What kind of hypocritical world do we live in?
Poll
From a Lions fan perspective, knowing these players better then outsiders and considering their contributions to the 2011 playoff team, should we
worry about these arrests going into the preseason? (6 votes)
let it slide as knuckle headed slipoffs by a bunch of youngsters who had a lot of money and time to screw around with? (26 votes)
