A theme quickly emerged on the first day of Detroit Lions training camp: Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson are still really, really good. Stafford and Johnson combined to tear apart opposing defenses in 2011, and it sounds like they haven't missed a step in getting back into the swing of things after the offseason break. Johnson especially sounded like he had a dominant first day of practice, as evidenced by some of the tweets that were sent out during the session.

Calvin Johnson outran Delmas and Alphonso Smith, 69-yard TD in 7-on-7s.He's still good. In case you wondered

Stafford also got quite a bit of praise during practice.
