Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley originally had a hearing scheduled for this morning in Mobile over his second-degree marijuana possession charge. The hearing was pushed back, however. It will now take place at 9 a.m. on Nov. 27, which is the Tuesday before the Lions host the Indianapolis Colts.

With the hearing being moved to November, Fairley's next court date is Aug. 14. He has a trial date scheduled for that day over his DUI arrest.

Typically, the legal process needs to come to a close before Roger Goodell rules on a possible suspension. With it not looking like Fairley's marijuana case will conclude until during the season, it will be interesting to see when a decision will be made on a possible suspension. On the one hand, it'd be nice for Fairley to be able to play at the start of the season, but if he were to be suspended, the Lions obviously wouldn't want to lose him for key games late in the season.
