So I was sitting around, checking out some of our contracts, when I realized that there will very likely be a season-long battle between two of our DE's, Lawrence Jackson and Willie Young, both of which are in the last year of their contract.
What do I mean by "battle"? I mean, the dude that will be tagged as KVB's heir apparent, and the dude that the team is going to shell out some potentially serious money in the offseason. With the amount of people we have to re-sign after this year (Delmas, Avril, Houston, Durant, Corey Williams, etc.) and with our tight cap situation I don't think it's financially feasible for us to bring both of these guys back (and I think the Lions realized this, which is why they drafted Ronnell Lewis), and therefore the two of these will be in a year-long competition to be "the dude that replaces KVB".
Both are 26, and while Jackson has two more years in the league and was a much more highly touted prospect they seem to be on even footing. My question, even though it's way too early to have a logical, formed opinion, and solely because I'm curious: who would you rather see brought back, Willie Young or Lawrence Jackson?
