Fantasy Football RB Views

I'll be discussing the value of rbs this year, whos a safe bet, whos a potential bust, and people to take a chance on.

Here we go.

There are really only 3 rbs that project as "sure things". These guys are Rice. McCoy, and Foster. Out of these 3, only Rice is expected to have the same expected production as in the previous years. The eagles have come out openly by saying that McCoy was "overused", while the texans have an rb battle between Foster and Tate for carries and playing time. This is why I say Rice is the safest of the 3, while Foster has the most upside. The next "tier" of guys that get drafted all have question marks for one reason or another. Even though these guys have question marks, I would feel good about taking a chance on a couple of them because their ceilings are as good, if not better, than the top 3 themselves. In my mind, only Chris Johnson and Darren McFadden fit that mold.

Darren McFadden- Injuries are the problem for him. That seems to be the only thing. He performed extremely well when healthy. He was one of, if not the best, fantasy producer from the rb position til he got hurt. At the end of the first round, it might be worth pulling the trigger on him. If you do not feel confident about his health, then maybe stay away or handcuff him with Mike Goodson for a proven producer

Chris Johnson- He struggled last year, which devastated fantasy owners last year. You can easily blame Johnson for your fantasy woes, but the signs were there for a bad season. He held out for a big contract, then barely had a training camp. He came in out of shape, and he wasnt the same player he was in previous years. It doesn't help that the titans blocking for him was underwhelming as well. This year, he has a full offseason to prepare, as well as a better offensive line due to the continuity of the returning players and the addition of Steve Hutchinson. Johnson will go in the first round so take him if you believe he is ready for a big bounce back year.
