After missing quite a few practices with a knee injury, Detroit Lions defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch was back in action on Monday. He wasn't a full participant since he only took part in the team's position drills, but the fact that he practiced at all is a good sign. It was looking last week like he might be out until the start of the regular season, but knowing Vanden Bosch, I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that he's already back.
The Lions are easing Vanden Bosch back into things, which is why he didn't take part in all of the drills on Monday. Even so, his limited return still had an impact on the team.

It will be interesting to see if Vanden Bosch plays this week against the Oakland Raiders. The coaches have been very careful in the past with Vanden Bosch in order to keep him fresh, but perhaps he will work his way into the game for a series or two if he fully practices later this week.
