Lions Roster Cuts: Dominique Curry, Isaac Madison Released

Stay connected for news and updates

Detroit Lions wide receiver Dominique Curry (18) completes drills during training camp at the Detroit Lions training facility.

In addition to placing two players on the reserve PUP list and two players on injured reserve, the Detroit Lions also released wide receiver Dominique Curry and cornerback Isaac Madison on Monday afternoon. Combined, these moves brought the Lions' roster down to 74 players, leaving one spot open for Kevin Barnes once the Lions' trade for him becomes official.

Curry joined the Lions last month and was in the mix for one of the final spots at wide receiver. He had been getting a lot of work on special teams and did pretty well on Saturday against the Oakland Raiders. Apparently, it wasn't enough for the coaches to keep him around, as he has been let go.

Madison spent less than one week with the Lions. He was added last Tuesday to get the Lions back to 90 players, and now he has been released to get them under the player limit before the 4 p.m. deadline.
